Historical Significance:

Elegba Folklore Society provides educational opportunities through the arts. Its purposes are to bring to this community a deeper understanding of the rich diversity of its own cultural traditions and to encourage participation in those traditions. The Elegba Folklore Society gives particular attention to the various strands of African American culture. They also provide a cultural tour of Richmond's African-American heritage.
